I founded Meristem Family Medicine out of a deep-rooted belief in providing accessible, high-quality healthcare, where meaningful doctor-patient relationships are essential for optimal care.
The traditional healthcare system is often burdened by bureaucratic inefficiencies and time constraints. Meristem Family Medicine eliminates these barriers so we can focus on providing the care you deserve.

With over 18 years of experience across diverse roles, including academic medicine, leadership, college health, obstetrics, postpartum, and newborn care, Dr. Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice
Dr. Sam worked in multiple settings including UPENN’s faculty practice, federally qualified health centers, medical practices in New York City, Philadelphia, and Massachusetts.

Dr. Sam became a family physician because she believes in the power of primary care and community medicine. With specialized training for patients of all ages, family physicians are uniquely equipped to understand and address the impact of social determinants of health on individuals and families.
She is passionate about climate change and believes that if we focus on bringing our planet back to health, we can make our individual lives healthier as well.
Her hobbies include yoga, hiking with her family and dog, reading fiction, mountain biking, and playing piano.

A meristem is a part of a plant's roots and shoots and houses stem cells that are key to the plant's growth and development. Wherever a plant is growing, there is a meristem.
